WHY I THINK SLEEP IS SO IMPORTANT
If you need a better reason to get some sleep other than your own need, you will be happy to know that it is essential for your child to get consolidated sleep at night. So, while it is normal to have night feedings during the newborn stage, your infant NEEDS to sleep through the night once they are of the right weight for them. Sleep deprivation is detrimental to learning and memory and your child is doing more learning and development during their first part of life than any other time. Most parents tell me their child is fussy and seems tired all the time when they come to me, that's the biggest sign it is time to make a change. I understand that every child is different and every family is different, but that's why I love this job so much. I am able to tailor my program to every family based on their parenting style and their child's demeanor.

I am a strong believer that sleep is important and the work it requires to get your child sleeping through the night is worth it, but I also think it is important to do it in the quickest way with the least amount of upset for the family. That is the hardest part when you are trying to do it on your own.
